A dose-dependent antiproliferative effect of gefitinib in HNSCC cell lines. Cultured UMSCC cells were plated in 96-well microplates in quadruplicates, and the next day the cells were treated with different doses of gefitinib. The cell density was determined on days1, 2, 3, and 5 by MTT assay. The optical density (570 nm) was measured and presented as the mean plus SD from quadruplicates. The IC₅₀ values were calculated based on the day 5 MTT data. The vehicle control was included as the NoTx condition.
