Neurotoxic effect of oligomeric Aβ₄₀ in isolated adult astrocytes can be ameliorated using GGC. (A) Aβ₄₀ significantly decreased astrocyte cell viability. Treatment with GGC (200 mM) provided significant protection from exposure to oligomeric Aβ₄₀. (B) Treatment of astrocytes with GGC significantly reduced caspase 3 activity. Significance *p < 0.05 compared to control non-treated cells. ^#p < 0.05 compared to control cells treated with oligomeric Aβ₄₀.
