Performance Gain (PG) with increased core assignment. The PG for the test file (107 reads, ~ 75 bp read length) as a function of the number of assigned cores and segment size. A PG less than 1 implies that the run time using C cores is more than 1/C of the one-core run time. Additional core assignments do not achieve at par PGs and loss in PG becomes worse with decreased segment size
