Cytoscape analysis of genes deregulated in endothelial cells. In this clustering, downregulated genes (in blue) are rare as compared with upregulated genes (in red). Il-6 gene (induced almost 4-fold) was revealed as a hub by network analysis, and thus occupies a central position in the center. It is part of several different hallmarks identified as enriched by GSEA (onflammatory response, interferon γ response, TNF-α signaling via NFκB, apoptosis and hypoxia), which suggests that in the studied context, IL-6 actually plays the role of a hub gene.
