Insulin significantly diminishes the level of pAMPKalpha (Thr172) markedly elevated in cortical neurons by their exposure to hydrogen peroxide. Cortical neurons were incubated with insulin (or without it) for 1 h and then exposed to 100 µM hydrogen peroxide.
