DEX Effects on Force Production. Functional properties 70 of 3-D SMUs assessed on days 15–16 by measuring isometric tetanic force production following electrical stimulation. SMUs with administration of 25 nM DEX at early and late stages of proliferation exhibited average maximum forces significantly lower than SMUs receiving sustained administration of 10 nM DEX (p=0.004 and p=0.045, respectively). There were no significant differences in average maximum isometric forces within the 25 nM DEX-receiving cohorts. Thick bars show the mean, and error bars indicate standard error. *Indicates a significant difference from sustained 10 nM DEX.
