The transmission rate parameters depend on the number of infectious IN and CE calves (I_IN and I_CE, respectively) and/or on the amount of MAP in the environment caused by IN or CE shedding (E_IN and E_CE, respectively). E depends on MAP secretion in current time interval from the infectious calves (either IN or CE) and amount of MAP remaining in the environment from excretion by the infected calves on previous days (t-1) weighted by σ.
