Experimental setup. A, Participant with the adjusted equipment before the measurement. The optical fibers were attached to the target display and conveyed the light of LEDs, which were located outside of the scanner room. The eye-tracking camera (not shown here) was located at the head end of the scanner, and the eye-tracking mirror was adjusted to view the right or left eye through this camera. The start position for the hand was located at the sternum at body midline. Please note that the actual measurements were conducted in complete darkness with the participant in the scanner bore. B, A schematic illustration of the target display. Please note that the diameters and distances are not scaled correctly, and all positions despite the fixation were invisible if not flashed.
