Table 2.

TMR-CREB dissociation rate constants in neurons in response to KCl depolarization and TTX

DIV Number of cells Treatment Dissociation rate constant (s−1; mean ± SD)
Ratio of long-residence to short-residence component (mean ± SD)
Short residence Long residence
7 22 3.21 ± 0.43 0.46 ± 0.07 0.124 ± 0.049
7 18 KCl 3.02 ± 0.44 0.36 ± 0.10** 0.140 ± 0.059
14 6 2.74 ± 0.43 0.42 ± 0.11 0.152 ± 0.043
15 9 TTX 3.07 ± 0.43 0.46 ± 0.08 0.136 ± 0.037

The data were evaluated by fitting the distribution histogram of TMR-CREB with or without pharmacological treatments. The asterisks show that the dissociation rate constant of the long component after KCl treatment was significantly different from that in untreated neurons (**p < 0.01, Mann–Whitney U test).
