$V_{R_{\text{g}}}$ potential introduced in this work allows for more powerful control of chain fluctuations of IDPs than the harmonic and Morse R_g potentials. The harmonic potential (orange) and Morse potential (green) tend to restrain R_g in a narrow energy well with a steep energy barrier away from the ideal R_g value. In comparison, $V_{R_{\text{g}}}$ (blue) shows a shallow bottom and allows the chain to escape the restraint.
