Body weight change (A), histopathological images of liver and spleen (B), blood cell counts (C) and serum chemistry (D) in BALB/c mice injected intravenously with different sized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) at the dose of 0.5 mg/kg once a day for 5 days. The blood samples were collected on day 7 after the first dosage for blood cell counts and serum chemistry (hepatic and renal function panels) analysis. After 2 weeks, major organs including liver and spleen were excised for histopathological examination.*P<0.05, when compared with control.
