Activation of sGC protects against Aβ-induced LTP impairment. A, The sGC inhibitor ODQ (10 μm) blocks the rescue of Aβ-induced LTP suppression by DEA/NO (F(1, 10) = 49.90; p<0.001, compared with DEA/NO plus Aβ plus tetanus). ODQ alone reduces LTP to levels equal to those obtained with Aβ (F(1, 13) = 0.53; p > 0.1, compared with Aβ plus tetanus). B, The sGC stimulator BAY41-2272 (100 μm) reverses the Aβ-induced LTP impairment without affecting baseline transmission (F(1, 6) = 25.53; p < 0.001, compared with Aβ plus tetanus).
