Bilateral DMH administration of MTII suppresses feeding. MTII (0.4 nmol) injected directly to the DMH of 24 hr food-deprived ovariectomized rats produced a potent inhibition of cumulative food intake (grams; mean ± SEM; n = 4 for each group) compared with vehicle control. *p < 0.05, significantly different from vehicle-treated rats at all time points.
