Excitatory burst neurons (EBN) are located in the PPRF and project monosynaptically on abducens motoneurons (ABD Mn) and on PH neurons. Stimuli applied to the PPRF also activate descending cholinergic axons from pontomesencephalic areas. See Results for details and references.
