For all units, the mean changes in spike rate are consistently higher in the CM condition than in the other conditions. The mean and the SE of 11 type II, 20 type III, and 14 type IV-IV-t units are shown. Data are included regardless of whether the responses showed an enhanced response to the signal in the CM condition according to the statistical analysis.
