Mice received daily intraperitoneal injections of L-NAME (90 mg/kg) for the indicated time periods, and their brain sections were used for detection of apoptotic cells by the TUNEL technique 24 hr after the last injection. Data are expressed as number of cells/mm³ and presented as means ± SEM. Three animals were used for each condition.
