Viability of cortical neurons after Aβ1-42 treatment. Cortical neuronal cultures at 5 DIV were treated with Aβ1-42 at the indicated concentrations and length of time. Viability was determined by the trypan blue exclusion assay. Data shown are the mean ± SE (n = 4). In three separate experiments cell viability was measured with the MTT assay, which showed no significant reduction after exposure to 10 μm Aβ1-42 for 24 hr.
