IL-1 signals via p38 MAPK in hippocampal neurons. Cultured hippocampal neurons were treated for 10 min with the p38 inhibitor SB203580 (10 μm) and then treated with vehicle or IL-1 (10 ng/ml) for 20 min. The p38 inhibitor attenuated IL-1-induced phosphorylation of p38 (A) and of CREB (B). The graphs show the combined data from three independent experiments. Error bars represent SEM.
