Early developmental expression of Zic2, a transcription factor. Using horizontal sections of E35, P0, P7, and P16 LGN, expression patterns of ferret Zic2, vGluT2, and Dkk3 mRNA were examined. Expression of Zic2 was evident as early as E35 and remained throughout development. In contrast, expressions of vGluT2 and Dkk3 were absent at E35 and became detectable at P7 and P0, respectively.
