HC (healthy control), MCI-0 (baseline, before acupuncture therapy), MCI-1 (12 sessions of acupuncture therapy for 6 weeks), and MCI-2 (another 12 sessions of acupuncture therapy for 6 weeks). Statistical significance criterion was set to p < 0.01 (boldface indicates a significant difference).
