The amino acid sequences of the predicted cleaved ELA fragments compared with [Pyr¹]apelin-13, the predominant apelin isoform in the cardiovascular system. There is little sequence homology between ELA and apelin fragments; however, there are some similarities in the positioning of charged residues.
