Table 2.

Early growth parameters, equilibrium prevalence and childhood infection probability for a mumps-like disease in a UK-like population, for four sub-cases of the household infectious disease model with demography. Mumps-like parameters are chosen for the full age- and household-structured model, with τ chosen for the other three cases to give the same early growth rate r = 0.121 in all cases. The corresponding household prevalence distributions are visualized in figure 3.
