Right deep inferior epigastric artery was injured during prior surgery and is occluded. Preoperative MRI was able to screen this and avoid an unnecessary surgery which would have led to flap failure. Preoperative images also screen for metastasis. In this case surgery is deferred and instead treatment for metastasis (chemotherapy) is started.
