It can be observed that counterclockwise rotation in the mandibular occlusal plane happens because the force action line is occlusal to the arch's center of resistance; generating a moment, which leads to incisor extrusion and molar intrusion. In a similar manner, a clockwise rotation occurs in the maxilla due to the force action line being occlusal to the arch's center of resistance, thus, a moment is generated, causing incisor extrusion and molar intrusion.
