Southern analysis confirms tandem arrangement of satellite in all species of Peromyscus. Genomic DNA was digested with MspI, electrophoresed, transferred to a membrane, and probed with the satellite sequence. A ladder-like hybridization pattern observed in all species confirms the tandem arrangement of the satellite.
