Implementing a hESC neural differentiation model to evaluate chemical toxicity sensitivity during neurogenesis. We developed a hESC model of neurogenesis representing transitions occurring during human neurogenesis to evaluate BDE-47 toxicity in vitro. The 5 stages include: (I) hESC self-renewal; (II) EB formation and initiation of the 3 germ layers; (III) EB ectoderm specification and neural rosette patterning; (IV) NPC proliferation; and (V) neurosphere expansion.
