APE downregulates the main cell growth and survival pathways. MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with APE 100 and 300 μM EqC for 24 h with or without pretreatment with 5 mM NAC or 5 µM SP600125 for 1 h. The protein levels of phospho-AKT, AKT, β-catenin, NF-kB p65 and c-myc were measured by western blotting by using the total cell lysate. All results were obtained from at least three independent experiments. The full-length blots are included in the supplementary information (Figs S12, S13).
