Parameters for spatial normalization: center of the fovea cm, center of the papilla cp, length s and angle θ of maculopapillar axis. All OCTs were moved, rotated and scaled so that their macular and papillar centers overlapped. Data on macula and papilla were acquired independently in two OCT sessions, so their coordinate systems could not be directly related to each other. Thus, the two datasets had to be co-registered based on shared retinal regions before maculopapilar axis length and angle could be computed.
