The concentration of ISF eAβ was assessed by microdialysis (n = 21). CSF was isolated from the cisterna magna and directly analyzed by ELISA (n = 6). Hippocampal tissues were processed by sequential extraction in carbonate buffer and then 5 m guanidine (n = 6). Tissue Aβ values are normalized to protein concentrations for each sample.
