Table 1.
TM4-tail region is critical for expression of glutamate currents from truncated channels or tandems made from truncated channels
DNAs | Mean current | Number | |
---|---|---|---|
TM4s | pA ± SEM | ||
Control | − | 480 ± 160 | 3 |
NR1t + NR2t | + | 80 ± 30 | 5 |
NR1t + NR2t | − | 0 ± 0 | 5 |
Control | − | 180 ± 40 | 3 |
1t→1 + 2t→2 | + | 140 ± 60 | 14 |
1t→1 + 2t→2 | − | 0 ± 0 | 10 |
1t→2 + 2t→1 | + | 180 ± 90 | 13 |
1t→2 + 2t→1 | − | 40 ± 40 | 4 |
The first column indicates which subunit DNAs were used in a transfection. The second column shows whether or not the truncated DNAs or tandems were supplemented with the TM4-tail encoding DNAs. When TM4-tail DNAs were included, the TM4 tails of each truncated subunit were included. Controls are from cells transfected with NR1 and NR2A during the same set of experiments. Currents are rounded to 10 pA.
