The last two figures were obtained by interpolation in the strip-chart record. On the bases of the sensitivity of the measurement system and the “noise” in the strip-chart record, the accuracy of the interpolation is estimated to be about ±3 (approximately ±0.3 mm on the chart) in the next to the last figure given. The extra figure was carried to retain an over-all consistency in the calculations.
