Chandipura virus neutralization by classical pathway of complement is dependent on C1q. (A) Hemolytic assay with sensitized sheep erythrocytes was employed to check reconstitution of C1q in the depleted serum against NHS. (B) One hundred PFU of the virus with either C1q-depleted (C1q dep.) or -reconstituted serum (C1q dep.+C1q) and the virus-only or the virus treated with NHS served as the controls.
