Systematic screening of older women for fracture risk in primary care leads to a reduction in hip fracture incidence (SCOOP study). Impact of screening on hip fracture compared with control arm, expressed as hazard ratio, across range of FRAX 10-year hip fracture probabilities at baseline, calculated without BMD. There was evidence of an interaction of effectiveness with baseline probability (p = 0.021). The symbols indicate the range of baseline probabilities in the whole-study population (closed symbols) and in the high-risk group identified by screening (open symbols).
