(A) Parasitemia in BALB/c mice infected by the intraperitoneal route with 1x10³ forms of sanguine trypomastigotes of strain Y of T. cruzi. The number of blood trypomastigotes on days equivalent to the parasitemic peak was evaluated in infected mice, treated or not treated with memantine (10 mg/kg per day). Comparison between the groups treated and not treated with memantine (p <0.05). Data are expressed as the mean ± standard deviation.
