ERK pathway is not activated in the Tg2576/PS1P264L cortex. A, Thetop demonstrates 100 μg of cortical protein, stained with anti-phospho-ERK. A very small increase in p44-ERK phosphorylation was present in cortical samples from Tg2576/PS1P264Lmice compared with the increase in total ERK from the same blot (A, bottom). The active fraction of p44 is reduced in an age-dependent manner (B). The active fraction of p42 is not changed significantly. Six samples per group were each assayed by immunoblot in triplicate. *p ≤ 0.05 indicates significant differences.WT 12, Wild-type mice at 12 months of age.
