EBV-encoded EBNA2 targets growth-promoting transcription factors such as MYC and SREBPs, which together with EBNA2 drive expression of key lipid biosynthesis genes. These metabolic programs induce mevalonate and fatty acid synthesis for B-cell remodeling and post-translational activation of target proteins. Acetyl-CoA-derived GGPP supports Rab geranylgeranylation and phospholipid synthesis. EBNA3C upregulates Rab13 expression, which then serves key chaperone roles in LMP1 and 2A trafficking and signaling.
