No neuronal loss in the MeHg-exposed IC. MeHg was administered to mice at a dose of 4 mg/kg/day for 4 weeks. HE staining was performed in the IC region of vehicle (A) and MeHg-treated (B) mice. Arrows indicate dark neurons. Nissl staining was performed in the IC region of vehicle (C) and MeHg-treated (D) mice, and the number of neurons was counted (E). The reported values are the mean ± S.E. (n = 5 animals in each group).
