Effect of DMG on the growth of MDR K. pneumoniae and S. Typhimurium strains. K. pneumoniae BAA2472, S. Typhimurium 700408 and S. Typhimurium 14028 were inoculated (approximately 5 × 106 CFU/mL) in appropriate media containing increasing concentrations of DMG, as indicated, and grown at 37 °C under aerobic conditions and constant shaking. Cell growth (CFU/mL) at 16 h was determined by serial dilution and plating. Results shown represent means and standard deviations from three biological replicates. The asterisk above each bar indicates the bacterial growth (CFU/mL) is significantly lower compared to the no (0) DMG control (P < 0.01, Student’s t-test).
