Schematic illustration of the cardioprotective effect of MURC (muscle‐restricted coiled‐coil protein) deficiency in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Intracellular signaling network including reactive oxygen species (ROS) reduction and activated antiapoptotic signaling with STAT3 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 3) phosphorylation leads to the cardioprotective effect in cardiomyocytes of MURC deficiency after I/R.
