Influence of shortening the interval between consecutive deliveries of liquid in the free reward condition in one tonically active neuron. Conventions are similar to those in Figure 3. The change of condition occurred over three successive blocks of trials. Response to reward occurred in both the irregular and regular 4 sec conditions and disappeared almost immediately when the monkey was switched from the regular 4 sec condition to the regular 2 sec condition.
