Degeneration of LGP axons containing huntingtin aggregates. EM48 immunogold labeling shows three degenerated axons in the LGP of a HD-repeat knock-in mouse at 17 months of age. The axons contain immunogold-labeled aggregates and many dark and swollen organelles, suggesting an association of huntingtin aggregates with degenerated axons.
