Experimental design. Studies focused on (A) characterization of cSiO₂- and nigericin-induced inflammasome activation, IL-1 cytokine release and cell death in RAW-WT and RAW-ASC macrophages, (B) assessing effects of DHA supplementation on the fatty acid profile of membrane phospholipids, (C) determining how DHA impacts inflammasome activation, IL-1 cytokine release and cell death, and (D) assessing how DHA impacts inflammasome activation by monosodium urate (MSU) and alum crystals.
