Protocol for setting parameters of the glutamate diffusion model in the presence of CTZ and Kyn. The protocols and calculations were performed in the presence of 100 μm CTZ and 1 mm Kyn as described in Figure 6. For the plots of release rates in c, we assumed that Kyn decreased mEPSCs amplitudes to 50% and therefore scaled the values by a factor of 2. Such a correction was not applied to traces of release rate, other than those under Kyn.
