Relationship between leptin and NO in lipid metabolism. Leptin modulates NO production in WAT through PKA and MAP kinase activation, being an important regulator signal of leptin-induced lipolysis. In peripheral tissues, leptin induces fatty acid oxidation, inhibiting lipid accumulation, decreasing lipogenesis, and reducing lipotoxicity associated with non-oxidative fatty acid metabolism.
