Active Ras is indispensable for the translocation of cytosolic PI3Kγp87 to the plasma membrane. In contrast, interaction with Gβγ is sufficient for PI3Kγp101 membrane translocation. Both Gβγ and Ras contribute to the stimulation of the lipid kinase activity of membrane-associated PI3Kγ enzymes.
