Effect of temperature on [3H]MPP+ uptake in hDAT-SK-N-MC cells (A) and embryonic mesencephalic cells (B). Significant increases in [3H]MPP+ uptake were observed at higher temperatures at all concentrations tested, ranging from 1 to 100 μm of cold MPP+ in the presence of 4 nm [3H]MPP+ or 13 nm [3H]MPP+, as described in Materials and Methods. The figure depicts the results of a representative experiment using 10 μm of cold MPP+ in the presence of 4 nm[3H]MPP+(A) or 13 nm[3H]MPP+(B). Values shown represent the mean ± SEM of at least three independent experiments, each performed in triplicate.
