Oligodendrocyte progenitor cells were mock-infected or infected with adenovirus expressing AA-Akt or wt-Akt. After a 24 or 48 hr infection, the virus was removed, and cells were cultured in DMEM plus 0.5% FBS for an additional 20–24 hr before caspase inhibitor stain. Caspase-positive cells were counted, and data are expressed as a percentage of total number of cells visualized by DAPI staining. Data are shown as mean ± SEM (n = 3).
