Electron micrographs of RIS ofc-fos+/+ andc-fos−/− mice after dark adaptation (dark) and after 2 hr of exposure to 5 or 15 klux. The morphology of RIS and their mitochondria was comparable in dark-adapted animals of both genotypes. After light exposure, morphology remained unaffected in c-fos−/−mice.
