Figure 1. — Breeding strategy for generating the Shank3^GCre^Tam mouse line. Heterozygous Shank3^+/G mice from the original Shank3^G mouse line were crossed with a tamoxifen-inducible Cre^Tam transgenic mouse line to produce Shank3^+/GCre^Tam− and Shank3^+/GCre^Tam+ offspring. Shank3^+/GCre^Tam− and Shank3^+/GCre^Tam+ mice from this initial cross were bred to generate all experimental mice for this study: Shank3^+/+Cre^Tam−, Shank3^+/GCre^Tam−, Shank3^G/GCre^Tam−, Shank3^+/+Cre^Tam+, Shank3^+/GCre^Tam+, and Shank3^G/GCre^Tam+.
