Graphene nanopores functionalized with (e) four carbonyl, (f) four carboxylate, and (g) three carboxylate groups (He et al., 2013). (h) Crown-ether graphene (Guo et al., 2014). The pores in (a-g) are hypothetical but variants of (h) have been seen in experiment.
